Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate will work with the Business Services Team handling financial and travel duties.
These duties include travel requests and expense statements, purchase orders, requisitions, invoices, account reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other clerical duties.
The Accounting Associate will work on State and Research accounts.
The Accounting Associate will be responsible for consistently providing a high level of customer service to internal and external vendors and clients inquiring about payments, invoices, refunds, collections, and conference and registration activities.
Excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, and establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship are essential to this position.
Applicants must be skilled in data entry, computer and related software for mathematical computations, and using analytical techniques to review, reconcile and process financial data.
Specific duties include:
Routing all travel, monitoring Travel and Purchase Card transactions, including tracking and submission of logs and receipts.
Supporting Assistant Director with pre/post award process, Monitor and reconcile budgets.
Provide reports.
Create and submit business items to Procurement and Accounts Payable.
Reconciliation of State accounts in BA4.
Set up new accounts in KFS and BA4.
Other general office duties as needed.
Review and respond to all inquiries that come into the Business Services Unit.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
