The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. - Issue notification on the status of the FOIA request within 20 working days and ensures that all legal requirements are met - Assist with on-demand screening for on-site requests of possibly restricted records. - Ensure appropriate protection of records that contain national security information. You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. To be qualified for this position at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Reviewing records for information restricted by access statutes/policies and recommending release decisions; AND -Communicating orally and in writing with the public and using time management to respond to requests within set deadlines; AND -Independently performing analytical and research techniques to deliver reference and research assistance to individuals, agencies and organizations. OR To be qualified for this position at the GS-11 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Experience with access statutes and policies.; AND -Communicating orally and in writing with the public and using time management to respond to requests within set deadlines; AND -Independently performing analytical and research techniques to deliver reference and research assistance to individuals, agencies and organizations. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field related to the position OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related to the position. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. OR To be qualified for this position at the GS-09 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Supporting general office operations such as managing a database, compiling reports, drafting correspondence, and customer service; AND -Providing reference services to access materials. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks. For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks For the GS-09, you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
