Supervisory Archivist

Duties Help Duties Summary This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration.
As a Supervisory Archivist in the Special Media and Electronic Records Branch of the National Declassification Center you will be responsible for carrying out the full range of program responsibilities of the branch, including series/project planning and directing and coordinating other government agency and NARA personnel resources for the evaluation of prioritized records.
Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY ARCHIVIST, you will:
Negotiate with key officials from Federal agency headquarters offices concerning the processing service results and declassification review decisions for both ANDC concerns and special review projects.
Make written and/or oral presentations to working level officers of the declassification, archival, and records management communities.
Be responsible for the interpretation and implementation of all laws, statutory guidelines, and NARA procedures and regulations in the processing of these materials.
Maintain familiarity with other government agency onsite declassification review programs.
Travel Required Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Specialized Experience for the GS-13:
You must have one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent in other public or private sector, that is directly related to the position as listed above and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Oversees and coordinates archival review and/or processing projects; AND Collaborates with subordinates and peers in the development of new methods for tackling complicated technical processing issues; AND Interprets or ensures compliance with laws, guidelines, procedures, and/or regulations in the processing of archival records.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
Education Education Requirements:
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the US Department of Education.
Bachelor's degree in archival science or bachelor's degree with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history and/or in political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following:
archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government.
OR Combination of education and experience - at least 30 semester hours that included courses as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
